Welcome to the Gods Lake Indian Residential School Path Forward Project, dedicated to preserving the historical records and stories related to Indian Residential schools. Our mission is to engage community members, spread awareness, and preserve the cultural heritage of the Gods Lake Narrows First Nation.
Our Mission
The Path Forward Project exists to honour the truths and experiences of God’s Lake First Nation Survivors, to support healing for our community, and to ensure that the legacy of the Indian Residential School era is never forgotten. Guided by Survivor leadership, cultural knowledge, and the strength of our Nation, we work to recover, protect, and share our stories; create safe spaces for healing; and build educational and governance pathways that empower future generations. Our mission is to walk together rooted in truth, grounded in respect, and committed to a future where our children and families thrive.
